After a fun first industry gathering in Amsterdam in September, the iGaming community took over the sunny island of Malta for the 2021 edition of Sigma conference!
What is Sigma?
Sigma is one of the biggest European events for iGaming. The Maltese show attracts professionals from all over the world. You could find eSports players, online payment providers, games developers, sports betting companies, casino operators, webmasters, streamers, and curious people. Just like LAC (London Affiliate Conference), Sigma is the perfect opportunity to meet representatives from any party involved in the iGaming industry, make new friends, and have some free drinks while discussing the latest updates from the gambling world.
Why did ColossalSlots attend Sigma?
Malta surely is a great place to host such an event. Even in November, the weather was so nice to not even need a jacket, and restaurants are just spectacular surprises with some hidden gems that just make us want to never leave. But, the main reason for the ColossalSlots.com team to attend Sigma conference was to discover new slots providers which can offer interesting games to review. Another main attraction has been seminars about compliance and responsible gaming which are always a must. We need to keep up to date with regulations to make sure we can offer safe and fair recommendations to our readers!
How was Sigma 2021?
First things first, we have been impressed by some upcoming slots providers which promise to be fun such: Swintt, FunFair Games, Eurasian Gaming, CT-Interatvive, and Apollo Games.
We managed to have a chat with the top lads from one of our favorite providers No Limit City, all we wanted to say was “thank you for all the amazing out of the box and controversial games you gave us in 2021! And we can’t wait to play Legion X slot!”.
To be honest, when it comes to networking and meeting new players in the industry Sigma has no match! But many things happened during the big Maltese week… Some friends got stuck at the airport and haven’t been graded access through customs for issues with their covid vaccines certificates (despite being fully vaccinated).
In the meantime, at the venue, there wasn’t absolutely any kind of check for tickets or certificates at the entrance, and none was wearing a mask in an extremely crowded pavilion.
Restrictions or checks have been not existing during the whole event. The big night event with special guest singer Akon was shut down by police for being overcrowded. Tables at the official dinner restaurant were double sold.
Overall Sigma has been a blast, but surely a bit more care wouldn’t have damaged.
